At the interface between physics and developmental biology, his research, done in close collaboration with experimentalists, is going back and forth between theory, modelling et experiments, in order to shed light on dynamics of development process. This interdisciplinary approach has for example allowed to better understand how complex structures can self-organize during development, and highlighted the role of mechanical forces in the implementation of corporal plan of vertebrates.
