The LPENS is involved in the organization of various scientific events for the general public or students.
Fête de la science at the ENS
In October a great event of scientific popularization takes place, in which the laboratory participates: the Science Festival.
In 2019, more than 800 curious and inquisitive people came to visit the laboratory, listen to our researchers during mini-courses, participate in physics and chemistry workshops!
Seminars to CPGE
Each year, the Physics Department of the ENS organizes a scientific day for the students of the Classes Préparatoires aux Grands Ecoles (CPGE) of the 1st year in connection with the theme of the Supervised Personal Initiation Work (TIPE) of the following year.
The lectures are filmed and available on the Physics Department’s website and on its YouTube channel.

Nuit des Sciences
As the École normale supérieure has the dissemination of knowledge as one of its missions, every two years it organizes “open doors” during a night full of scientific and literary activities: it is a unique opportunity to discover many fields of current research, from cosmology to the sciences of antiquity, from organic chemistry to contemporary philosphy.
The physics laboratory of the ENS, as a member of the department, contributes to each edition of this event.
The programme for the 2019 night is available on the Nuit des Sciences website.
